Installing Server

After generating the XML file, Server can be installed silently using this

XML file. This method of installing is called Silent Mode. To install

Server silently, follow the given instructions:

1 Enter java -jar PServer30.jar -silent stu_template.xml

at the command prompt. Here stu_template is the name of the XML

file, which was generated earlier.

2 Pressing the Enter key runs the automated installation with all the

default values in the XML file, and the user is not prompted for any

details.

To get help on the commands that can be used to install Server, enter java -jar

PServer30.jar -help at the command prompt.

Installing Server with the Command Line option

To install Server with the command line option, save the file

PServer3.0.jar on your local machine on both, Windows and Unix. Follow

the given instructions to install Server this way:

1 Download the installation file PServer30.jar from http://

www.pramati.com to your local directory.

2 Log in as an user with administration privileges.

3 If you are installing from the CD, insert the CD in the CD-ROM

drive. Mount the CD ROM drive, if required.

4 Go to directory where the installation file is located.

5 At the command prompt, enter java -jar PServer30.jar -

cmdLine. This prompts the user to enter the following details:

• Name Enter your name and press the Enter key

• Key Enter the valid license key and press the Enter key

• Installation Directory Enter the directory where you want to

install Server, and press the Enter key

• Java Home Specify the path of JDK1.3.1_01 installed on the

machine. Specifying an incorrect path will halt the

installation.
